Many local volunteers respond to search requests for missing persons.

On April 13, 2024, many local volunteers, along with area search teams, cadaver dog teams from
Montana and Idaho, Pacific County Emergency Management Agency, Pacific County Fire District 1,
WDFW, an Ilwaco Fire Ambulance Crew, and the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office, searched an area that could possibly contain the remains of missing person Eric Veith. Mr. Veith has been missing since June 6, 2021. 


On March 30th, 2024, an individual found Mr. Veith’s wallet close to the approximate area where Mr. Veith was last seen in Ilwaco, Wa. After the wallet was discovered, a search and recovery operation was organized and scheduled for Saturday, April 13th, and Sunday, April 14th, 2024.
 
In the afternoon of Saturday, April 13th, remains were located and confirmed to be human. At this time PCSO is processing the scene and will be conducting a thorough investigation.
PCSO would like to thank all of the community members, local business, and PCSO employees that
helped make this search and rescue operation financially happen. Chico’s Pizza, Evergreen Septic, Sid’s
Market, Dawyna Davis, Travis Polumbo, Mike Deniston Construction, and most importantly K9 – Task
Force for their donations and efforts to ensure a successful search.
